- Incentivising third-party funding applications, scouting scientists for renowned funding lines
- Support in project implementation (liaising between researchers and the central administrative departments; reporting; supervision of special funding programmes)
- Close cooperation with relevant central departments in all administrative processes related to third-party project management, including process development
- Coordination of scientific awards and support for applications/nominations
- Conceptualisation and coordination of UBT's internal research funding (Internal Funding Pool)
- Coordination of the research data management working group (FDM@UBT) and advice on RDM in the application process
- First point of contact for research-related enquiries to the Vice President for Research and Junior Scholars
- Strategic support of university governing board in all matters relating to research
