Workshop “Advancing Gender-Responsive Research and Funding”
Date: April 29, 2026
Registration deadline: April 23, 2026
Integrating gender and intersectionality into research design has become a key quality criterion in national and international funding landscapes. Funding agencies increasingly expect gender- and diversity-responsive approaches because they improve research quality, validity, and innovation – and directly influence funding success.
GO Forschung (Servicestelle Chancengleichheit) and Servicestelle Forschungsförderung have organised a workshop to put this into perspective. This workshop is part of the BMFTR-funded project GO Forschung:
This 4-hour workshop combines a high-level input session with interactive training and peer consultation. You will gain practical tools to productively integrate gender, diversity, and intersectionality into your own research projects, funding applications, reviews, and evaluations.
Workshop highlights include:
- Current international funding policies and expectations (e.g., DFG and beyond)
- Key concepts, terminology, and landmark cases illustrating the consequences of missing gender and diversity sensitivity
- Best-practice examples from science and engineering
- Hands-on work with participants’ own research stages
- Translating formal requirements into concrete gains for proposals and evaluations
The workshop is led by a senior researcher and professor with over two decades of experience in gender and intersectionality research across the life sciences, natural sciences, and engineering, as well as international academic experience.
- Date: April 29, 2026 – 9:00-13:00h
- Participants: Researchers from postdoc to professor, across disciplines
- Location: On site at UBT (exact room to be announced)
