The Research Support Office of the University of Bayreuth invites to a new information session, which will be held jointly with the NKS KEM (Nationale Kontaktstelle Klima, Energie und Mobilität) on Energy Topics in Cluster 5 & Proposal Writing.

Objective

In this online session, participants will get an overview on funding opportunities in the energy field of Cluster 5 of Horizon Europe (Climate, Energy, Mobility), followed by valuable advice and information on writing a proposal in Cluster 5.

Description

The first part of the webinar will start with an introduction to the European research programme “Horizon Europe”. The focus will then move to funding opportunities in energy research in Cluster 5 (Climate, Energy, Mobility). In particular, the areas of "Cross sectoral solutions for the Climate Transition", "Energy use and supply" and "Hydrogen" will be addressed. The first part of the webinar will conclude with an outlook on the upcoming work programme of Cluster 5.

The second part of the webinar will focus on key elements of an application in Horizon Europe and will include useful advice for a successful proposal. There will be practical information on the important application documents, but also advice on consortia formation and networking possibilities. Moreover, the structure of the proposal will be analysed pointing to relevant aspects of the project description and relating them to the evaluation criteria. The relevance of cross-cutting issues like gender, ethics, open science and SSH (social sciences and humanities integration) in specific parts of the proposal and in the evaluation process will also be highlighted.
